International Students
A global curriculum
At BGSU, we celebrate the diversity of our students in an atmosphere that encourages you to explore your cultural heritage. International students who choose BGSU will discover a welcoming community that challenges and supports students from all over the world. With more than 600 international students and scholars representing 90 countries, BGSU is committed to cultural diversity.
Center for International Programs
BGSU is committed to expanding intercultural communication and shared understanding. We believe that the exchange of ideas, cultural perceptions and political and social attitudes can improve the quality of life for all students. The Center for International Programs at BGSU coordinates and promotes international student and faculty exchanges while stimulating awareness on campus and in the community.
The director and assistant director of the Center for International Programs are the official advisors and counselors for international students. An academic advisor from each college is assigned to each student to monitor academic progress and to provide assistance in the student's major area of study. A Counseling Center with licensed psychologists is available for individual and group counseling. The Career Planning and Placement Office provides comprehensive career development and placement services.
The next step
The Center is also responsible for coordinating admissions and orientation for international students. Send your admission materials to the Center for International Programs (not the Admissions or Graduate Admissions offices). If you want to make a formal application to BGSU after reading this, or if you would like more information, contact us.
